Participants will be exposed to excerpts of place-based writing (poetry, fiction, and nonfiction) and learn about the authors. They will then delve into their own sense-memory through a series of guided warm-up exercises, culminating in the creation of a poem.

Christopher McClatchy
Christopher McClatchy is a poet, educator, and recycling coordinator who is proud to live in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He is the founder of Anthrosite, an environmental literary magazine focusing on the intersection of people and place in Northeastern Pennsylvania. His work deals with rupture, ruin, and small, embodied acts of return.
