About the Artist

Lindsay George

Lindsay George

Lindsay Barrett George is a visual artist, as well as an award-winning children’s book writer and illustrator. For the past 35 years, she has lectured and presented at national literacy/reading conferences, NCTE national conventions, writer’s conferences and workshops in the mid-Atlantic and eastern part of the US, as well as Mexico.

It is thrilling to witness self-discoveries through storytelling. The challenge of creative collaborations and group problem-solving through drawing, performing ‘linear’ theatre and creating books are the foundations of Lindsay’s workshops, for children, adults and families.

It is a fascinating truth that everything we create is auto-biographical. The belief that deep down every person is an artist and natural storyteller – that we all carry stories with us, whether we know it or not – searching for meaning – is justification to make art. And to share it.
