EITC Information

The Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple is very excited to announce it's currently listed as an Educational Improvement Tax Credit program recipient for a third consecutive year. This past school year, the SCC was able to provide free tickets to over 3,000 students throughout Northeastern, Pennsylvania.

The mission of the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple is to rejuvenate a national architectural treasure as a regional center for the arts, education and community activity appealing to all. The center provides exposure to local, regional, national and international artists year-round. We are committed to offering arts integrated experiences to our regional school districts, home school groups and charter schools as well as the community.

Your company can help promote arts education in our region through the (EITC) program. By making a contribution to the Scranton Cultural Center’s at the Masonic Temple's Art SCC Youth Education Program Opportunities program through EITC, your company can receive Pennsylvania State tax credit equal to 75 percent of its contribution up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year. Can be increased to 90 percent of the contribution, if business agrees to provide same amount for two consecutive tax years.

Eligibility

Businesses authorized to do business in Pennsylvania who are subject to one or more of the following taxes:

  • Corporate Net Income Tax
  • Capital Stock Franchise Tax
  • Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax
  • Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax
  • Insurance Premiums Tax
  • Mutual Thrift Institution Tax
  • Insurance Company Law of 1921
  • Personal Income Tax of S corporation shareholders or Partnership partners

The SCC has been approved to utilize funds received towards the following programs: "Franklin Institute Science Series", "Creative and Performing Arts Academy at the SCC" , "Creative and Performing Arts Academy Camp", "A Day at the Scranton Cultural Center" , and "The History Mystery Scavenger Hunt Tour".
