PIPPIN

Open to performers in Grades 5th through 12th!

With an infectiously unforgettable score from four-time Grammy winner, three-time Oscar winner and musical theatre giant, Stephen Schwartz, Pippin is the story of one young man's journey to be extraordinary. Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, romantic relationships and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father, King Charlemagne the Great). In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the unextraordinary moments that happen every day.

HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • Students/ instructors will remain socially distant throughout the day and will remain masked at all times, except for lunch/ snack time during which every student will have adequate personal space to safely remove their masks.

  • Activity space and all camp materials will be sanitized before and after each use.  Students will work with personal supplies, instead of shared materials and will be instructed to wash their hands and utilize our hand sanitizing stations regularly.

  • Our participant capacity for each session will be limited to ensure the comfort and ease of keeping our students/ instructors safe.

  • Our two age divisions will utilize separate entrances for drop-off/ pick up and will eat lunch at separate times to limit the number of people in a shared space.

The Scranton Cultural Center Youth Theatre Program provides impactful experiences in the performing arts to children of all ages and levels of experience. Our program offers opportunities to participate in full- scale musical productions, arts-based workshops, summer camps, and to attend professional theatrical performances. Our goal is to cultivate a love of the arts by encouraging our participants to engage in exciting theatrical opportunities and by fostering an inclusive arts community in which children can thrive by learning about themselves and the world around them. The SCCYTP is proudly accessible to all children, regardless of disability or financial means.

We are looking forward to keeping your kids engaged in our inclusive, supportive and educational SCC community this summer.  We can't wait to be back together in person, but are grateful for this opportunity in the meantime! Please check out all of our new virtual programs below and feel free to contact SCC Youth Theatre Program Director, Camille Reinecke at camille@sccmt.org with questions!
